Let me introduce myself: I'm Janet Davis, an artist and entrepreneur living and working on the North side of Bonavista Bay, on the island of Newfoundland in Eastern Canada. There are many challenges to running a business here in my small rural hometown, and there are many wonderful benefits too. This blog is where I share some of those challenges and triumphs, and share what it's like to live in this part of the world.
We are printing and packaging new cards, minis, and bookmarks this week, for our own shop shelves as well as some orders coming in (including Christmas Cards!) and as this is Madison’s last week here at Norton’s Cove Studio, we’re trying to fit a lot of work into the last few days! If you’re thinking of stopping in for a visit, it’s a great time to see how these lino-cut relief prints are made!
A funny thing has happened… see the printing plate in the picture, which makes my Saltbox card? It has gone missing! We have searched high and low, and we cannot find it! Obviously, it’s here somewhere. But where? So if you come in and you see we’re using flashlights on all fours to search the dark corners and under the sink, you know why!

I'd love for you to help spread the word about what's happening at Norton's Cove:
I am an artist and entrepreneur from a little town on the northeastern coast of Newfoundland, Canada.
I am proud of my heritage of hardworking people and I believe that we deserve good food, music, and art. I love to show off my beautiful and sophisticated little part of the island of Newfoundland.
