Let me introduce myself: I'm Janet Davis, an artist and entrepreneur living and working on the North side of Bonavista Bay, on the island of Newfoundland in Eastern Canada. There are many challenges to running a business here in a small rural community, and there are many wonderful benefits too. This blog is where I share some of those challenges and triumphs, and share what it's like to live in this part of the world.
I’ve got lots going on here at Norton’s Cove this week! Mat hooking, planning for Christmas at the Café, a new edition of prints ready for watercolour, making Christmas tree ornaments, painting 19 canvas panels (16 of which are still just white in these pictures!) with smudge herring, and working with partner Davis Shipping Limited which is changing its name to Norton’s Cove Marine Inc.! More on that later!
Norton’s Cove Studio is open: 10-6 Wednesday to Sunday!
Norton’s Cove Café is planning its Annual Tibb’s Eve event: tickets will be available on December 1st!
Save the Date:
Norton’s Cove Studio’s Annual Christmas Party & Sale happens on Friday, December 2nd, starting at 7pm!
All sorts of treats to start the festive season: prizes, music, food & drink, and 25% off everything in the shop!
I'd love for you to help spread the word about what's happening at Norton's Cove:
I am an artist and entrepreneur from a little town on the northeastern coast of Newfoundland, Canada.
I am proud of my heritage of hardworking people and I believe that we deserve good food, music, and art. I love to show off my beautiful and sophisticated little part of the island of Newfoundland.
