Tara Bryan: Visiting Artist

Norton’s Cove Studio is very happy to announce that Tara Bryan will be giving us her company and expertise next week!  Tara will arrive on Thursday, March 29th, and will be staying until April 3rd.

We will have a little meet & greet on Thursday night (see the events section), and Tara will be teaching Oil Painting in the loft on Friday & Saturday.  She’ll be spending the rest of her time working on her own projects.

Tara is bringing with her some t-shirts, art cards, and other goodies to sell, so stop in to shop too!

From Tara’s 2011 visit!

Surfacing I

Oil on plywood, Janet Davis 2012

This is my newest painting, finished just yesterday.  It’s sitting in my shop window for now, to be framed and priced once it’s dry.  My toughest critic told me it was “really good”, which shocked my eyebrows to my hair line last night!

I’m hoping to have a photographer friend get a better picture of it for you soon…

Christmas Tea & Sale

I’m getting my things ready to bring to this event in St. John’s this coming weekend.  I’ll be bringing the  following pieces with me- if there’s anything else on the website that you’d like to get a closer look at, let me know, and I’ll bring it along.
Dogberry Branch

Minke Whales

And snowflakes!  A collaboration between myself & potter Alexis Templeton.

Icebergs in June: Day One

Icebergs in June, which began last year at Alexis Templeton’s studio, came to be at Norton’s Cove Studio this year for two reasons: one being that we might actually see some icebergs in June in Brookfield; two being that the signs Alexis had made up fit my windows too.

I’ve changed the event to happen over the entire month, as my out-of-town location makes things a little different than Alexis’ city weekend events.

So here we are at day one.  Duke and I went sailing, but didn’t see any icebergs.  It was cold enough that you’d think there was ice all around, but no.

I’ll be keeping a daily blog on events, visitors, and special bergy things for sale here at the studio, made by myself and my artsy friends.  There are some beautiful things to see already, and there are lots more on their way.  Stop by for a visit, make a special trip, stay tuned!
