This week at Norton’s Cove Café

Norton’s Cove Café is closed for the season, but there is still lots going on at Norton’s Cove…

Come on over to Norton’s Cove Studio to get your cappuccino fix in the off-season. Bring your own mug if you’d like to take your americano or café latté to go- as an effort to cut down on the amount of garbage we produce. You can pick up your favourite jams, sauces, and salts too.

Our Annual Tibb’s Eve Dinner & Dance tickets have started to sell to those who have attended before- make sure you don’t miss your opportunity- get your tickets before they sell out!

We love our tee shirts and and hoodies branded with our Norton’s Cove logo! We have a new product hitting the shelves and online store very soon, in cahoots with Star Creations!
What do you think it will be?

And progress continues to creep along at the Lower Deck. I’ll keep you posted of anything new right here every Wednesday!

Norton’s Cove Café is closed for the season, but there is still lots going on at Norton’s Cove!

Last week, in order to reach out to my local peeps who use Facebook more than any other type of social media, I have set up a Norton’s Cove Studio & Café Facebook page. I’ll be cross-posting from this blog, so anyone who follows the page will see links to these posts in their timeline, as well as posts that usually go to Instagram or Twitter only. In order for my business to succeed, I really need the support of my local community.

If you like to use Facebook, I would really appreciate it if you would head on over to Norton’s Cove Studio & Café’s brand new Facebook page and share it with your friends, especially people local to the GNCA*. (*Greater Norton’s Cove Area!)

Get your foodie gifts at Norton’s Cove Studio this off-season! All Norton’s Cove Café Giftshop items are now available across the street!
And yes, I’ve brought one of the espresso machines to the studio too! All winter is a long time to go without a cappuccino! Stop by anytime for a cappuccino, café latté, or an americano. If you’d like to take your coffee to go, please bring your own mug! #BYOM

This week at Norton’s Cove Café

Norton’s Cove Café is closed for the season, but there is still lots going on at Norton’s Cove!

New this week, for all you Norton’s Cove coffee fans, I’ve moved one of our espresso machines to the studio for the off-season! You’ll need to bring your own mug for coffee to go, or you can browse the shop and enjoy the c.1890 aesthetic while you sip. We don’t serve food, just coffee. And don’t be foolish and order something not on the menu! We have three options: americano, café latté, or cappuccino. That’s it. Don’t be asking for a café au lait or a decaf low fat pumpkin spiced anything. I’ve been watching Seinfeld again lately, and you just might get a “no soup for you” response!

The Norton’s Cove Studio Coffee Counter is back, better than ever!

We are planning new events for the Café for this fall and winter, like our Annual Tibb’s Eve Dinner & Dance– and a New Year’s Eve event too. And progress continues to creep along at the Lower Deck. I’ll keep you posted right here every Wednesday!

Norton’s Cove Café is closed for the season, but there is still lots going on at Norton’s Cove!

New this week, all items from the Café giftshop will be available at Norton’s Cove Studio, which is open year-round 10-6 Wednesday to Saturday, and 10-3 on Sundays. Job Kean’s old shop makes for a beautiful shopping experience with its old counters and shelves and brown paper rolls; so feel free to pop in to grab a bottle of Dark Tickle Partridgeberry Relish when you’re getting ready to make fish cakes at home!

This Week at Norton’s Cove Café

There is work ongoing at the Café’s Lower Deck. Last Friday, while Duke was taken up with snow-clearing the whole day, I listened to my Friday Night Dance Playlist while painting the walls and ceilings of my 1st section of the large room. I had so much fun dancing and painting, I did it again all day on Saturday! On Saturday night I was ready for switch/plug covers and the lights are in place! It’s great to see the progress!

On to the 2nd section this Friday & Saturday, which doesn’t have much wall-space, but more ceiling (which is the hardest part to paint!), and there are lots of tools and materials to move out of the way first!

Did you know that many of the Café Gift-shop’s products are available through our online shop? And the gift-shop, like the studio, is open by appointment too. Simply get in touch with me, and I can arrange a private shopping experience for you in the off-season.

Because Valentine’s Day is on a weekend this year, we decided to stay open for two nights to offer more of you a special menu (link below image). If you’d like to go ahead and make a reservation, you can contact me any way you can: call me at the studio or on my mobile, send a text, send a message through what’s app, twitter, or Instagram, drop in at the studio in person, or drop me an email!

This Week at Norton’s Cove Café

We hosted a private supper this past weekend for a 40th birthday; and I want to let you know that we can make that happen for your extended bubble as well! 12-34 people with a set menu (that is, everyone eating the same thing!) can certainly be arranged! Get in touch with me if you’d like to organize a special meal for your group!

There is work ongoing at the Café this week, actually, on the Lower Deck. Last Friday, we removed a pick-up truck full of garbage, sorted through the tools and items that have been stored there for the past 4 years, found new hiding places for holiday decorations, and started sanding our beautiful old church pews and other bits of woodwork that we salvaged from the Pool’s Island Anglican church. This Friday, I’ll start painting the walls and ceiling- then things will look like they’re moving along quickly! I’m quite excited about this project!

This beautiful piece will form part of the Lower Deck’s coffee bar
Taylor is volunteering some of her time with the Lower Deck project. She is Chief Sander, and is prepping these old church pews for paint as we will change them to fit our own colour scheme.
Still lots to do, but I can see it complete in my imagination- can you?

This Week at Norton’s Cove Café

Well then. Christmas is over. It’s a brand new year. And we don’t have any events planned for the Café until next month’s Feast of Saint Valentine. There is some work going on at the Café behind the scenes, but there’s nothing to show quite yet… I’m hoping to have a few progress shots of the Lower Deck for you next Wednesday!
